Eureka’s STEAM Service

Eureka’s STEAM Service offers a high-quality and comprehensive STEAM programme that focuses on the five STEAM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Delivered in English (Or Chinese), the programme does not only introduce students to the theories related to STEAM, but also encourages students to explore the practical aspects of the subjects through education softwares, creative workshops, group projects, presentations and experiments.

Why STEAM?

STEAM is a novel approach to learning. It empowers students with improved innovation, communication, observations and report-writing skills, to change the world and make it a better place by harnessing interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.

Programme Structure

We curate our lessons in a way that allows students to participate in thethink-out-of-the-box process and explore exciting techniques. As an outcome of the programme, students will develop a deeper understanding of various STEAM topics with improved innovation, communication, observation, English presentation and report-writing skills.

STEAM Courses

3D Printing Design

  • Understand basic 3D printing concepts and analyze the geometric structure of objects
  • Learn to draw simple shapes to complex structures and 3D printing skills with Tinkercad
  • Give full play to students’ creativity and experience to make exclusive 3D models, and initially enhance the understanding of engineering

VR Virtual Reality Creation

  • Create a simple VR virtual world on the online platform CoSpaces
  • Learn programming and animation, create 3D models and control them with Blockly software
  • Design and build your own characters, graphics, sounds and stories

App (application program) Programming

  • Based on the Computing curriculum of British primary schools
  • Recognize the role of computer language and the structure of program flow
  • Learn to design and write interactive games and animations with MIT’s App Inventor software

Micro:bit Block Programming

  • Micro:bit is a single-chip microcomputer designed by the British BBC, mainly used for programming education
  • Learn to use American Tinkercad modeling software to create different 3D works
  • Use Micro:bit to integrate 3D printing to make small inventions, such as machines, games or electric windmills, etc.

mBot Robot Block Programming

  • Construct a robot model and configure motors, LED lights, sirens, ultrasonic sensors, light sensors, etc.
  • Learn to use mBlock, know the skills of mechanical programming and the basic structure of robots
  • Send different commands to the robot and control its actions through programming

STEAMBrick
STEAMBricks Mechanical Enlightenment Course – Beginner/Advanced

  • Get to know inventors, their products, and different sensors
  • Learn simple circuit connections, mechanical construction, information sensing, graphical programming, and logic control
  • To train students to become little inventor through the integration of theory and practice, and with case explanations of “open source hardware + 3D printing”

Minecraft Programming

  • Minecraft is an immersive game that can be freely created with imagination in the game space
  • To guide students to carry out projects through the built-in project-oriented learning in the game, and with the application of Minecraft classroom mode
  • Use Minecraft’s Code Editor to cultivate students’ computational thinking and creative programming

PythonGameDesign and Programming

  • Python is a widely used computer programming language that supports a variety of programs including functional and instructional
  • Widely used in data analysis, website development and artificial intelligence (AI), easy to learn, suitable for programming beginners
  • Experience programming your own games with Python, and compete with tutors and classmates and share results

Scratch Game Design and Programming

  • Scratch is a programming language developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specially designed for students to learn computer programming
  • The course uses Scratch as the center to make animations, so that students can master the knowledge of the basic process of designing games
  • In the simple computer game project study, use the circuit board to understand the circuit principle and create games with computer programming

Virtual Reality Study Tour

  • Virtual Reality (VR) of the British Dinosaur Museum, the Egyptian Tomb or the castle filmed in “Harry Potter”
  • Instructor-guided tour with interactive attractions, physical games and role-playing, together with VR viewer or smart device as if you are on the scene, 360-degree exploration
  • Support desktop and tablet computers, you can participate at the same time at school and at home
