About Eureka

Eureka Language Services Limited was founded in Hong Kong in 2001. Since then, its services have been used at over 700 client institutes (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and universities), non-profit organisations and businesses in Hong Kong.

The word ‘Eureka’ is used to express an epiphany or a sudden intellectual breakthrough that allows a person to see a problem or situation from a new and different perspective. The story of human achievement can be defined by such Eureka moments, and Eureka always endeavours to develop programmes that enable our students to experience the same exhilaration of discovery and breakthrough.

Mission & Vision

At Eureka, we share a common mission— helping people achieve high language proficiency to become effective language users in various contexts and cultures. We are passionate about helping language learners explore their creative, analytical and communicative capacities.

In parallel with this mission is our commitment to help aspiring native-speaking English teachers (NETs) develop their international teaching career. We believe in the power of lifelong learning and cultural exchange—in our view, these are the keys to helping someone live fully and grow as a person.

Jack Wan, Director

Message from the Director

We are not only in the business of language education, but we are also in the business of developing minds and creating global citizens.

I have worked in education for almost twenty years. Part of that time as a secondary school  teacher, and the other as Director of Eureka Language Services. I have seen thousands of Hong Kong students reap the benefits of learning a second language. Cantonese may be the language of the heart for Hong Kong, but English is the language of the world.

Our people are our strength. Every Eureka person is instilled with this idea and understands that what happens in the classroom is the cumulative effort of staff, writers, managers and teachers. Our team is united in this understanding of the power of language and education, and the profound impact it can have on a person’s life.

We are proud of the work we have done over the years. It is challenging and at times difficult, but all things worth doing well require a rolling up of the sleeves and a little sweat. We are not only in the business of language education but also in the business of developing minds and creating global citizens. In turn, citizens or people create cities, states and nations. Eureka hopes to continue to provide immeasurable small moments of learning and discovery to our students, teachers and staff. I hope to help provide a little hope and light into this world.

We are all in this together.
