Objectives

This course aims to expose students to a wide variety of text types that they may encounter in school and in daily life. It is designed to develop and strengthen students’ reading comprehension and writing skills through step-by-step practice.

Features

  • The course comprises of five paired units in reading and writing, which cover five themes and text types.
  • The reading units help expose students to a wide variety of vocabulary and sentence structures relating to a set theme and text type. The units allow students to learn skills to be a good reader and how to apply their knowledge from reading to writing.
  • The writing units consolidate what were taught in the reading parts. The units analyse the set text type, as well as teach students various grammar structures and language features to become competent in writing.
